Our July 4 Celebration

I'm taking a much-needed vacation this week with my family in Charleston, South Carolina. My husband and I are celebrating 30 years of marriage in this beautiful, historic jewel of the South. But I can never stop helping mamas and babies. In fact, today I had the privilege of talking to the sweet young woman at our hotel desk about a pumping plan and getting off to the best possible start breastfeeding her baby who is due in just 6 weeks!

I am so thankful for Sarah and Sathya who are manning the store in my absence! And Kelly Clements is offering back-up lactation services while I'm gone. What a blessing!! (of course I'm still taking calls and love helping you any way I can!!)

4th of July Plans

Labor Day Weekend Sale Begins Friday

Monday we will celebrate the working men and women who make America what she is. In the past, ANM has been open on Labor Day, but this year it happens to coincide with a very important 15th birthday celebration and first JV football game, so we made the decision to close.

But that doesn't mean we won't have a Labor Day Sale! In fact, our Labor Day Sale will be Friday Aug. 30 and Saturday Aug. 31.

So just what are we putting on sale? We asked you for ideas on Facebook today and we loved your input. So here are the details of the Labor Day Sale!

Back to the Basics!

If you've been around A Nurturing Moment for a while you know that our passion is moms and babies. Basically, we're a boobies, bums, baby carriers and unique baby stuff store! (Try saying that 5 times fast!) Last year we bought Huffman's Baby Furniture and branched out quite a bit. Some of the branching out was really good, and some wasn't as good.

The bottom line, however, has to be OUR bottom line...what really sells for us! The things that really sell are breastfeeding supplies, cloth diapers, Nosefridas, Baltic Amber, Books, Best Chairs, Melissa and Doug toys, Woombies and Miracle Blankets, Aiden and Anais, and the unique little things that you just can't find anywhere else. So we are downsizing. We're cutting our overhead in half, but we're keeping all the things that you, our loyal customers, love!

Tomorrow is our last full day in Suite B. So we're looking to wheel and deal. We've still got a couple of beds a couple of desks, some bookcases and a couple of dressers that we'd LOVE to sell! We've also got lots of cute nursery rugs, oodles of wall art and tons of bedding. All of it is 75% off! Tomorrow  all maternity and infant clothes are 60% off (not including Brandi's All Stitched Together custom clothing.) Even the nursing gowns are 40% off tomorrow ONLY.

Small Business Saturday

Everybody knows all about Black Friday. But did you know that small, local retailers have another very important day? It is Small Business Saturday! Today has been a terrific day at ANM, but we're really excited about tomorrow, too!

If you have an American Express card, you can actually get $25 worth of merchandise from any locally-owned business for FREE! Here's how it works: Register your AMEX card here. Go to your favorite local small business and spend at least $25. Pay using your AMEX. When you get your bill, you will have a $25 credit. Isn't that fantastic!
